Orchestra Concert

June 18, 2022June 18, 2022

Orchestra concerts are back at the middle school and we couldn’t be happier about that! Sixth grade was a slow start – they were virtual for much of the first semester and didn’t get to play like usual. But now, at the end of seventh grade, they sound AMAZING and it was like they didn’t… Read More

Buzzing Into Summer {Last Day of School Supper}

May 27, 2022May 27, 2022

I used to kick off the first moments of summer with a snack immediately following the Walk of Fame. With the boys coming and going at different times from school the past few years, I moved it to a last day of school supper! It usually takes one little spark of an idea to come… Read More

Walk of Fame 2022

May 26, 2022May 27, 2022

We’ve celebrated a LOT of things over the years, but the last day of school Walk of Fame is my most favorite of all. It’s not elaborate or expensive, but it makes me happier, prouder and more excited than any of the others and is a small thing to remind the boys of how much… Read More

Go Raiders {Making the Pennant Sign}

May 25, 2022May 25, 2022

When I shared this photo on Instagram after the Raiders Send-off to state, I had a bunch of questions from people wanting to know how I made it! Mother painted this cake topper for me in the fall during football season. You’ll need: Scanner – I scanned the pennant in as a photo on my… Read More

Raider Lacrosse {Region Champs & State Finalists}

May 24, 2022May 25, 2022

Wow – what a ride! John’s first varsity lacrosse season ended on such a high note, with the team celebrated as Region Champions and Georgia State Finalists! It is tradition for the seniors to give the underclassmen haircuts for the post season. This crew didn’t stop there. They also had the moms dye their hair… Read More

HOCO 2021

October 20, 2021October 21, 2021

It’s cliche, but time does fly. Many of you started reading this blog eleven years ago when John was just four years old! This past weekend, he attended his first high school Homecoming weekend as a sophomore. Be still my heart…. Honey was at basketball with Whit, so I was thrilled to bring Sister with… Read More

Friday Night Lights to Gameday Saturday

September 18, 2021September 12, 2021

If I didn’t know better, I’d think I was a football fan. Ha! Don’t care too much about the sport but I love the pomp, circumstance and socializing. We have taken the boys to the high school football games since we moved here 12 years ago. We couldn’t attend in 2020 and neither could our… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
