Deck the Halls 2017 {Den + Office} + Wreath Winner

The den is my most favorite Christmas room of the lot.  It is warm and cozy and I love it!

If you know my den, you see that we do have to slightly arrange the furniture to make room for the tree.  The chair that is usually to the left of the fireplace moves in front of the window.  I push the sofa and coffee back a little towards the kitchen as well to still have a good flow around the room.

Since I’ve been updating the boy’s rooms, I moved their silhouette pillows down here this Christmas.  I love the contrast of the black with the plaids.

You can also see the wreath that Mother and I painted last year.  I love it so much here and treasure the fact that we did it together!  Christmas came a little early for me in the form of a record player (there’s a long story behind that…. also, it is bluetooth, plays CDs, tapes, radio, etc) and I have LOVED playing my Elf soundtrack vinyl.  The boys adore it too – I thought the novelty would wear off after the initial “WHAT IS THAT???” but they almost fight over who gets to flip the record.  Ha!

Look at this baby all comfy on the sofa with her dirty little mouth from nosing around outside…

The coffee table gets a festive flower arrangement and a bowl of mints.  You can see here that I’ve swapped out all of my frames with Santa pictures.  I keep them in the frame year round… just behind the regular picture so it’s really easy to do.   Get all of my tips and tricks for arranging flowers in THIS VIDEO!

I think I get it from Mother, but I love tucking holiday books all over the house.  I have spent many Christmas holidays snuggled by the fire reading one of her many Christmas stories.

Over at the fireplace, the stockings are collected from Ballard Designs over the years as our family grew.  The wood monograms on the stockings are from Scrappin Plus.

The tree in our family room holds all of our favorite ornaments.  From little snowmen crafted by tiny hands to ornaments carried home from special vacations, this tree is loaded with memories.  It is always a joy to unbox them at the start of each Christmas season!  In fact, I shared this year’s new additions in this post  >>  Our Favorite Souvenirs

The evenings are my very favorite time in the den.  Everything just glitters with joy and happiness!

Over on the TV wall I have tried to disguise it with lots of greenery and feathers.  HA… not really… but it’s also not a bad idea.

Just like at Halloween, the banquette gets a puzzle for Christmas too!  This one is from the Disney Store.  I’ve got another Sherwood Forest candle from Spireside Candles in here and I love it!  The monogrammed tartan mugs are from the Dixie Delights Shop.

The last little piece of the den is over on the wall next to the kitchen.  This is the first year I’ve put anything Christmas here but my thoughtful friend P made me this darling house last year and it needed a prominent place for the holidays!

Moving along to the office, I promise not to take so long!!  Whew!  This is kind of a marathon post, right?!

This is the only room where I really stray from red and go with PINK!!!  I love it!  Last year I put our small Lilly inspired tree and nutcrackers passed down from Mother and Daddy-O on the table in here.  Well…. now that I am working from home exclusively and we have so much more homework, this may need to change next year.  This room has looked like a total abomination since the moment I snapped this pic.  Ha!

Over on the dresser I swap out the everyday print for a preppy Christmas print.  You can find the free printable Lilly Christmas bow file HERE.

The 12 days of Christmas bunting is from Lindsay Letters.  It’s so sweet and each one is perfectly detailed.

The office tree doubles as our Advent Tree.  Each night we read the daily scripture and add an ornament to the tree.  It’s one of the sweetest traditions, and you can read all about it here.  I took these pictures before the first day of Advent, but you can see the ornaments we start with here.  Most of these were made by Mother, myself, sweet friends and readers!

Now, before I go I wanted to announce the winner of the Bah-Humbug Lynch Creek Farm wreath giveaway!!  Congratulations to Pat Hutchison!!!  Please email me ASAP with your shipping address so that I can hook you up with timely delivery of your wreath.

If you’re still with me, way to hang in there!  I so, so, so appreciate your love and support.  Y’all are truly the best!!!

  1. I’ve always loved your home for Christmas (year round actually), but I must say that the office just cheers me up!!! I truly love the pink tree with the Lilly ornaments as well as all of the others that have been added on in recent years!

    Have a blessed week!

  2. Your home always looks beautiful! Especially at the holidays! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!?❤️????

  3. Your Christmas den is my absolute favorite. Our “big” tree is filled with the same types of ornaments/sentiments and I adore it because hanging the ornaments is hanging memories on the tree.

    Thank you for sharing! xoxo
