Classic Christmas Home Tour 2022 {The Bedrooms}

Today’s Christmas tour is going to be a whirlwind tour of the four bedrooms. Here we go!

Master Bedroom Classic Christmas Decor

I have been decorating our bedroom for a few years now and I am so glad that I started.

The red bedding was called Odette from Pottery Barn.  It’s such a beautiful pattern, with deer, swans, woodland rabbits and greenery.

I hang a simple wreath on the mirror and added a little greenery to the sconces.  See a complete how-to videos on How to Spruce Up a Basic Wreath and how to make a Simple and Easy Greenery Bouquet.

On the dresser I have a flower arrangement and a little painting made by Mother.  I display each and every year of Santa pictures during the season all over the house. Watch my DIY flower arranging video for a how-to, tips and tricks!

Tour & Sources for the Master Bedroom

After many years of fizzling out, I finally put a tree in here! Oh my gosh, I love it SO much. There is something magical about falling asleep to the glow and twinkle of the tree. It is a flocked pencil from Michael’s. I picked up the felt tree collar at Target. I had the red ribbon in my stash. The only ornaments are our TWENTY Wallace Christmas Sleigh Bells, dated for each year we have been married. I also added the most delightful battery operated candles. I have two sets on here and they are perfect. I love them on the flicker setting.

In the bathroom I hang a simple wreath on the glass shower enclosure for a little dose of Christmas cheer.

Teen Boy Bedroom Classic Christmas Decor

Moving on to John’s room, you will find more colorful Christmas decor and special things he has had for years. Not much changed in here decor wise since you last saw it.

The sheets were from Pottery Barn a couple of years ago.  I know they seem frivolous, but I have used the same set for ages! I got the FAO bear for him in NYC as a sweet memento of his 13th birthday trip a couple of years ago. It only comes out at Christmas these days. And, man, I miss NYC!

The print over his bed for Christmas is a limited edition courtesy of The Old Try.  It is hard to see but it has all of the reindeer listed and the O in Rudolph is red.

His desk was my mother’s as a child, and then mine, before being passed down for the third time. It really just sat collecting dust until the pandemic hit and virtual school was in session. I added a few Christmassy things for the season but, as you can see, this is a real life functioning space. (school books, laundry, overflowing trash)

The antique dresser was in his nursery. He’s almost outgrown the size of the drawers. :-) Over on the dresser are more of my old nutcrackers and another Christmas Old Try print. In fact, the little red one was the actual nutcracker I used when I was Clara in the 1993 Ballet South production. Gulp!

He loves his little lounge area more than ever. The reindeer pillow was from his first Christmas.

And, finally, I have a few things he has carried home over the years for Christmas on his bookcase. Lots of mementos here.

Tween Boy Bedroom Classic Christmas Decor

Whit’s room is still one of my favorite rooms ever.  It is just so happy and sweet – much like the little boy that lives here. We worked on some changes in his room this year and so his Christmas decor is a mix of old and new to go along with it.

His sheets and the fun pillow were from Pottery Barn Kids a couple of years ago.  He has a full bed and John has a queen.  I bought the red stripe set in a queen and split it up – Whit gets the top sheet and John has the fitted sheet.  I love the look of mis-matched bedding.

The new colorful garlands over his bed are from Target and are hung with command hooks.

Three years ago on a sick day at home, he made his very own painting to hang over his bed.  You can see all about it here: reindeer painting. It’s funny how clearly I remember that day and how glad I am that we did this together.

We give the boys an ornament each year that is representative of something they did or loved that year, and we also collect them on vacations in what is usually our only souvenir.  My parents give them a dated nutcracker every year, and they also have the ornaments they make at school.  I made a colorful garland for Whit’s tree out of old Disney MagicBands!

Mother made the stocking years ago.

Over on the other side of the room is his dresser (Honey’s as a child) and the chair that we move to make room for the tree.

The felt garland was also from Pottery Barn Kids.  The North Pole pillow was one I just happened to find and I LOVE it.  I knew the moment I saw it that it would be perfect in here.

Here is another piece of art by Whit.  Hard to believe that he was four when he carried it home and turned 13 a few days ago.

Guest Bedroom

Mother and Daddy-O usually visit us during the holidays and I like to have a few Christmas touches in place for their visit.  They always go all out for our visit to Savannah!

I include a few special touches in their room that they gave to me years ago – the little mouse pillow and Harrods bears. Come to think of it, the Nutcracker on the little antique side table is also from their collection.

If I had a four poster bed in every bedroom, I’d tie greenery to it just like this!

There is a small tree in the room that tucks right next to the bathroom door.

Thank you so very much for joining me today! I am wrapping up work, the boys are in the midst of finals week and we are jetting out of town in just a few short days – it’s time to check another state off of our bucket list.
