Around Atlanta {Mister O1 Pizza in Sandy Springs}

If you have spent any time on Atlanta food Instagram lately, you have probably seen Mister O1. The lines alone will tell you everything you need to know. They form out the door from open to close most days.

Mister O1 was founded by Chef Renato Viola with a pretty simple philosophy: extraordinary pizza requires extraordinary ingredients and attention to detail. Most ingredients are imported from Italy or sourced locally, and the dough is prepared and allowed to rest for at least 72 hours before being baked. The result is a delicate, thin-crust pizza that feels light but still full of flavor. It is also Michelin recommended, which certainly does not hurt its reputation.

My friend LH and I happened to luck into a table for two on the patio this past weekend, which felt like a small miracle given the crowd. It was one of those stunning Atlanta spring days where sitting outside in the sunshine is half the joy of the meal.

We started with the caprese salad and then shared the Star Laina pizza. If you have seen photos online, this is the one with the star shape and the ricotta-stuffed crust points. And yes, it is absolutely as good as it looks. The crust alone is worth the visit.

The only problem is that this place has been on Whit’s bucket list for a while. I brought him home a to-go slice, but I definitely owe him a proper visit in person… which means I will happily be standing in that line again real soon. <3
