Disney World Illuminations Fireworks Cruise

We celebrated Sister’s 40th birthday down in Disney with our big party of 10!!  We stayed at the Polynesian Resort, just like when we were kids, and had a marvelous weekend with the perfect mix of park time, pool time, good food and and family.  The highlight of the celebration was our private Illuminations fireworks cruise.  I have booked these numerous times for clients and was so excited to finally book one for my own sister’s special day!

The cruise leaves from the Yacht Club Resort.  The golden hour at Disney is my favorite time of the day.  Just look how beautiful the BoardWalk area is!

The boat seats 10 and there was plenty of room for all of us on board.  I had it fitted with birthday balloons and banners and we were all giddy when we arrived at the marina!

Our captain took us out about one hour prior to the show.  We tooled around the waterways between Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the BoardWalk resorts.  This was the end of a HOT day in Epcot and it was kind of showing :-)

The adults sat up at the front of the boat and the kids camped out with endless snacks in the back.  They were quite happy to have their own little party.

As the sun set, the weather became absolutely glorious.  We popped a bottle of bubbly and toasted the birthday girl!

Speaking of which, the boat comes stocked with snacks and drinks, but we added on champagne.

About 15 minutes before the show, our boat pulled right into Epcot and tied off on the water under the bridge between France and England in the World Showcase.  It was a spectacular vantage points for Illuminations and a night we will all remember.  This experience felt more personal, special and “VIP” than most any others we’ve done at Disney!

The cruise can be booked through Disney 180 days in advance and is limited in availability.  The boats seat 10 and pricing is currently about $375 total including tax (but not gratuity, which is at your discretion) and park tickets are not required.  There is no minimum age, but kids under 12 must wear a life jacket at all times when on-board the boat.  I handle all of these details for my clients, of course!

Speaking of which, if you plan to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort in 2019, I will begin sending out quotes next week on June 19 as soon as package pricing is released.  Join my interest list HERE!

School Night Supper {Apple Cider Salad + Dressing}

I made this Apple Cider Salad inspired by the one in Magnolia Table to go with our dinner one night and it was a huge hit!  All of the flavors go together so well.  The following recipe is not verbatim, but rather my short cut interpretation. Since it was just the four of us, I assembled individual… Read More

You Are Enough

On the heels of two tragic celebrity suicides, I don’t doubt that all of you have seen your social media feeds flooded with this message.  However, I think every person with a platform should be sharing.  While I know many of you, I don’t know all of you.  And I  don’t know your individual struggles.  I… Read More

Summer Welcome {SEAsonal Door Hangers}

A month ago I thought we’d never see spring and… I’m not sure we did :-)  Summer came rushing right in! I’ve got my fun, colorful Bronwyn Hanahan fish door hanger out front.  The ferns are also doing fabulously again this year.  Lime green and orange patterned ribbons are tied around the dogs to coordinate. Over at… Read More
