Well, time flies when you’re having fun. Six weeks have come to a close and it’s time for the big reveal! First things first, I like to start these kinds of things with a before shot…

and the goals:
- An updated space that makes a nice transition from my preppy pink and colorful family office to the rest of the main level. This little powder room gets a lot of use and opens onto the main downstairs hallway AND the family office.
- A neutral and timeless foundation with accessories that add pops of color and can be changed out as tastes change. I have used this philosophy throughout my home. Neutral walls, neutral floor coverings and neutral furniture. I want to do the same here, but layer touches pink (to tie in the office) and turquoise (to transition to the rest of the house.)

Before we go any further, I want to acknowledge that my very basic photography skills were really put to the test in this itsy bitsy space with zero natural light. It really looks so much lovelier in person. With that disclaimer out of the way… here’s the rest!
There’s no doubting that the wallpaper is the really stunner in the room. I mean, I could wrap myself up in it and spend the rest of my days in happiness. It’s just lovely! Aside from the walls, the chandelier is definitely my favorite change. Moving the light from the wall to the ceiling made all the difference in the world in making the ceilings appear taller. The mirror is such a better fit than the tiny one I was forced to have before.
As far as the little details, I made the shelf out of two corbels and half of a stair from Home Depot. I had intended to put two shelves in here, but it didn’t work out to have enough room between the back of a head sitting on the potty and where the bottom shelf would have needed to go. Mother painted the monogram for me and I truly couldn’t love it more. I made the box (storing spare tissue) and promise to show y’all how real soon.
I replaced the towel bar with an amazing lucite and matte brass one. The oyster plates were all in here previously. I added the striped towels with my monogram.
I also replaced the knobs on the vanity with matching lucite and brass pulls. I’m really glad Sister and Mother talked me into this splurge!
I’ve had this bee in my bonnet to float a print between two pieces of lucite for ages, and this was the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl. Honey has promised to share the details on this DIY fix real soon.
I laughed so hard when I pulled the tag off of the bottom of the new trash can to see the original tag proclaimed it a wine bucket. There’s nothing like a multi purpose accessory. :-)
