It’s a Marshmallow World in the Winter

January 25, 2017

First things first, I adore that classic Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra song. Second, I wanted to share a yummy marshmallow recipe!!  Bestie P celebrated her birthday earlier this month and I put on my thinking cap to come up with a special gift for her.  She gifted me the loveliest handmade Christmas house last… Read More

Sunday Supper {Wedding Lasagna}

January 22, 2017January 22, 2017

This is one of the very first things I ever made for Honey after our wedding.  Fifteen years ago I didn’t know how to boil and egg (serious) so this was quite the feat.  Since then it’s been a staple on our Sunday table and is a favorite for the whole family.  I call it… Read More

Perfecting Pancakes {40×41}

I realize that I am kind of alone here in my inability to make a pancake.  But, after nearly TWO years of trying more recipes, methods and techniques than I can count, I’ve finally mastered the art of pancake making!! I tried a ton of boxed mixes and home made recipes in my quest, and… Read More

Christmas Cocktail {Cranberry Moscow Mule}

December 21, 2016December 21, 2016

It’s been a flurry of Christmas activity over here lately.  We entertained all weekend and I this Christmas Cranberry Mule was a huge hit.  It’s really easy, delightfully cute and quite tasty.  I mixed it up in a pitcher by just multiplying the ingredients times four so it was not a fussy cocktail to serve.… Read More

Simple Sweet Treat for School

November 16, 2016November 17, 2016

A little while back I volunteered to send in a snack for a celebration in John’s class.  We went to the store together and settled on this.  It was easy, adorable AND well loved by the kids! I bought the store brand animal cookies and a couple of tubs of funfetti icing with sprinkles.  I… Read More

Halloween Eve Sunday Supper {Spooky Southwest Chili}

October 30, 2016October 31, 2016

It still feels like summer around here but that didn’t stop us from having chili for our Sunday Supper.  We had an extra guest for supper too… NO, not HIM!  One of the littles’ friends.  Hahaha! I picked up a bag of ghost and bat chips at Trader Joe’s (because how could I leave that… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
