Haunted Halloween Home Tour 2021 {Entry Foyer}

Our Haunted Halloween Home Tour continues today in the entry foyer! Kindly step all the way in please, and make room for everyone. There’s no turning back now.

I wasn’t loving the burlap skirt from prior years, it feels dated to me now. I used a lacy table cloth that usually goes i the dining room as a topper to the “everyday” skirt.   I really like how the spiders and webs pop! I switched out the chandelier shades for these black and white DIY shades from a while back.  Finally, I put down a black and white outdoor rug that I’ve been using for a couple of years.

Bats are flying high on the mirror. The clings are over 10 years old!  They were originally from Michael’s. I love to switch up “collections” periodically so this year I have skeleton hands holding plush pumpkins dotted along the table. This idea was inspired by the Pumpkin King candle. The “witch’s hair” garland is also from Michael’s.  I’m using two strands here.

The haunted doorbell from Grandin Road is back. It is so much fun! My boys have loved seeing one or two new things pop up each year as our decor inside gradually gets spookier as they get older. The doorbell could obviously be put outside, but it doesn’t actually ring to where you’d hear it inside.

Instead of flowers I did a Nightmare Before Christmas inspired candle – Pumpkin King. My old source of Disney candles has really scaled back so I’m on the hunt for someone with good scents and nice packaging.

More rats are scampering up and down the stairs. These are cardstock cut outs that I use painters tape to stick to the risers. Like the bats, I’ve used them for many years. Decorations like this are great because they are inexpensive and store flat!

Another thing I enjoy doing is using props for the boys’ costumes in the decor. For example, I tucked this axe in umbrella stand for an unexpected fright.

Finally, I added this paper mache pumpkin man to my collection YEARS ago. I used to keep Halloween candy in his gaping mouth but then we got Elsa Belle, who adores people food.

The tour continues soon in the den!

Adventures by Disney {Montana Pin Set}

I always tell my clients that the biggest thing Adventures by Disney has going for it is actually having “Disney” in the name. People want to immerse themselves in the world’s most iconic destinations, NOT in Disney characters, Mickey balloons and bottomless popcorn buckets. :-) Well, I promise – there is only one Disney-fied thing… Read More
