This Christmas we did something I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do, but have never sprung for… we lit up the exterior roof line for the holiday season. I literally felt like Buddy the Elf on Christmas when the sun set on the first night and our home lit up. It was pure magic!
Our friends Eric (fellow GT alum!) and Christy recently opened Blingle in the northwest Atlanta area and this was just the push we needed to finally light up the house. They are independently owned and operated (but nationally backed with the franchise, of course) and, as a small business owner myself, there is nothing I love more than supporting friends and friends of friends. We’ve known them for many years and can vouch for their professionalism, friendliness and work ethic.
Christy came out to our house and led me through the design process. It was SO much fun! She pulled up an image of our home and literally drew on the lights so I could see exactly what they would look like. There were tons of options – from the basic roofline in warm white light like we did, to colored lights, garlands, tree wraps, wreaths and so much more. With the click of a button she could add, remove and modify the design until it was absolutely perfect. Once we had that nailed down, she gave me a price and set up installation on the spot.
Our lights were put in last week and, while I was home, I didn’t have to be. The small team of two came with everything they would need – cords, lights, ladders, etc. – and spent a good couple of hours getting them perfect. They set everything on a timer for us so they magically come on at twilight each evening. All of their lights are industrial grade, low energy, and they install them pointing out, which makes them twice as bright. They have a “no lights out” guarantee so if anything comes loose or a bulb goes out, they come right out and get them all fixed up. Come January, they will come out to take everything down. This has been the easiest and most magical part of decking the halls this year.
Eric and Christy personally have a large service area, primarily including Cobb county but extending to many other parts of Atlanta (including Buckhead / in town). Oh, and it is worth mentioning that their services extend far beyond holiday lighting. They also do landscape lighting, patio lighting, event lighting and commercial lighting.
