Our Halloween home tour continues today with the living room and office. I can’t think of anything more appropriate for Friday the 13th.
I’ve never put anything Halloween in the living room before but I do love to add one new thing to our collection each year. So, when I fell in love with this haunted typewriter from Grandin Road, an idea was born…
I bought a cheap paperback copy of Poe’s works and tore pages out to scatter around the desk. I picked up the six rats in a set at Grandin Road as well. I was so happy with how this turned out!!
Now, I didn’t tell any of the guys in the fam about our new addition. Rather, I sat back and waited on them to jump out of their skin. One by one I got them. (It is motion activated. Is this awful?)
Moving right along, the office decor is the one cheery spot, I suppose.
I framed this free printable Halloween quote here on the dresser. I frequently swap this out for seasonal things.
I have put my monogram and Lilly pumpkins in here before, but this year I added John’s Captain Underpants and Whit’s Mickey Mouse. These are some of my favorite Halloween things we have! <3

I love books – reading them, collecting them, displaying them, etc. I have had Halloween Scare in Georgia for years and it is so cute (tons of states are available). The Nightmare Before Christmas hardback is new this year as a 20th anniversary edition. I saw it down in Disney but it is much cheaper on Amazon.
The ghost chair back covers were from Target eons ago. They first came home to live on our little play table. sniff sniff
