A Red, White & Blue Welcome

There isn’t a month or season that I love the outside of our home more than at the Fourth of July. I try to get mine up by flag day, and leave it up through July.

I also love walking our neighborhood this time of year, with so many homes flying the stars and stripes, curbs lined with flags and buntings galore.

I have used the same buntings and smaller flags for quite a few years. I store all of this in a closet in the garage, but think this year I’ll move them to the attic with the rest of our seasonal decor.

The darling firecracker door hanger is from Bronwyn Hanahan. I love all of her pieces for every occasion throughout the year and wish she still made them. I’ve been putting flags in my ferns ever since I saw Martha Stewart do it over 15 years ago.

I have my monogram anchor on the friend’s entry.  You can see all the details for how I made it, many years ago, in THIS POST

The last little touch out front are a few flags in the driveway pot. I found the umbrella last year at Target, but saw it again at the beginning of this season.

I hope you are having a great week leading into the holiday!

New Jersey {Cape May: Lighthouse & Lobster House to Princeton: Exploring & Blue Point}

We woke up to another stunning Cape May morning. I was already feeling sad about leaving the moment I cracked my eyes open! The boys slept in Honey and I headed out for one last coffee on the shore. Eventually, we moved from the rockers at Congress Hall to a bench in Washington Street Mall.… Read More
