Magical Monday {Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot World Showcase}

We love making a mix of old favorites and new experiences in every trip to Disney World.  On Memorial Day this year we had our first dining experience at Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot’s World  Showcase Morocco Pavilion.

Inside was lovely and immersive, done in authentic Moroccan style.

I opted for the lunch special which included a beef brewat roll and  jasmina salad to start…

chicken kebabs for the main entree… (note that I had to pick off the olives, ha!)

and the most amazing baklava for dessert!  Everything was SO yummy.

A belly dancer performs to live music on the hour.  We scheduled our lunch for right at the beginning of the lunch hour – I think around 11:30.  It was perfect timing because the place was empty and everyone there had a great view of the show.

We were all pretty enthralled by her.  If I’ve ever seen a real belly dancer, it has been so long that I don’t remember it.

Guests with spirited moves and no inhibitions were invited to join in at the end.  Our little dancer jumped at the chance.  Every single one of us loved our food, we thought the service was excellent, and we truly felt transported to another time and place during this dining experience.  Restaurant Marrakesh is considered a table serve restaurant is one credit on the dining plan, if using that.  It is also a relatively easy reservation to get, which is a bonus!

We also learned a new little tid-bit on this trip.  A cast member in the Moroccan pavilion told us to look closely at the skyline of Morocco from across the World Showcase.  You can just see the Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios peeking out of the dip in the trees to the right of Morocco.  Imagineers designed the top of the Tower of Terror to fit in with the skyline when viewing from Epcot.  They think of everything.  :-)  I’ve looked at this view a hundred times and never had a clue I was looking straight at Tower of Terror!

Since it was Memorial Day and the park was crowded and the temps were high, other than lunch we just hit two FastPasses for the Character Spot and Test Track.  Here’s my Minnie and Me pic of the day…

For other table service favorites in Epcot, we love Garden Grill, the Biergarten in Germany and Le Cellier in Canada.  I’ll be back next Monday with more Disney… if not before :-)
