I’m back today with another great gift idea. We gave Daddy-O the New York Times Ultimate Birthday Book to commemorate his 75th last year. It’s a beautiful compendium of every front page of the New York Times from his birth in 1948 to his 70th in 2023. It is personalized with his name, too.
This 12″ x 15″ best seller was inspired by a New York mayor who wanted to present a personalized compendium of Times front pages to his mother for her 100th birthday. It contains the front page from a loved one’s day of birth and every birthday that followed. It comes with a timeline spanning more than 115 years of news and cultural events; top pages from the recipient’s birth year; and an array of famous Times front pages. Available with a leatherette or premium linen cover in a handsome gift box.
The book comes with a 2.5″ x 7.5″ magnifier and a certificate of authenticity.
Pages are smaller than the dimensions of a newspaper, so the type is reduced slightly to fit this book’s 12” x 15” format. Pages after 1998 are in full color. Most pre-1998 pages are reproduced from microfilm, an archiving process that picked up imperfections on printed pages and diminished the quality of photos.
