Last month I was able to attend Drawn to Life – the new Cirque du Soleil show at Disney Springs – as part of a media event.
In this first-ever collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, journey into a world where an animator’s desk becomes the stage and drawings come alive. The show is a celebration of life, accentuated by the delightful, mesmerizing movements of Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic mastery.
Now, I know this is probably an unpopular opinion and certainly not what they want from a hosted event but I always aim to be honest with y’all. It fell flat for me. I absolutely LOVE Cirque and have seen four different shows over the years. I have been waiting on Drawn to Life to open for years as I wanted it to be my boys’ first Cirque show. It was entertaining and impressive, but it just didn’t have the absolutely wow factor they typically do. There is so much to do, see, eat and experience at Walt Disney World that I really don’t think adding in this show is a must-do.
